Therapeutic Massage is an assessment-based treatment focused on pain, injury, postural strain, and movement limitations. Sessions address multiple tissue layers as needed and may include myofascial techniques, trigger point work, joint mobilization, and rehabilitative approaches.
Pressure is adjusted throughout the session based on tissue response and clinical goals, rather than remaining at one intensity.
Best for:
• General pain or discomfort
• Mixed or unclear symptoms
• Pain with a mechanical or muscular cause
• Localized or postural tension
• Clients unsure which service to choose
• Ongoing care plans
Not ideal if:
• You specifically want constant deep pressure
• You are seeking a neurological pain-reset approach
If you are unsure which service to choose and have pain or specific concerns, this is the correct option.
This service is designed for relaxation, stress reduction, and nervous system calming. Pressure is light to moderate and focused on overall comfort and circulation.
This service is NOT intended for pain complaints, injuries, or deep pressure.
If you are seeking treatment for pain, tension patterns, or specific concerns, please book a Therapeutic Massage instead.
Who this is for:
• Stress relief
• General wellness
• Gentle to moderate pressure only
Deep Tissue Massage is an assessment-based treatment that focuses on specific deeper tissue layers such as deep fascia, muscle compartments, and structurally dense regions. Rather than applying uniform pressure throughout the session, the therapist works strategically and precisely to access deeper structures where clinically indicated.
Sessions often involve slower pacing, focused areas, and sustained work to particular tissues, with lighter work elsewhere to support integration and recovery.
Because this style places higher physical demand on the therapist, it is offered in limited quantities and by specific practitioners.
Best for:
• Long-standing tension in specific areas
• Recurrent issues that have not responded to general therapeutic work
• Clients who understand focused, slower deep work
• Clients who know they tolerate firm, sustained work
• Long-standing muscular density without nerve-driven pain
Not ideal if:
• Pain is sharp, nerve-driven, or highly reactive
• You prefer whole-body or constantly changing work
• You are new to massage
Key distinction:
This service targets depth of tissue, not constant pressure.
Hot Stone Massage can be deeply relaxing or incorporated more therapeutically depending on what your body needs that day. Warm stones are used throughout the treatment to provide soothing heat, ease areas of tension, and complement hands-on massage techniques.
Some of our practitioners also use warm and cool stones in more focused treatment, incorporating therapeutic and fascial techniques to work with areas of tension, sensitivity, and restricted movement.

Cupping uses gentle to moderate suction to lift and decompress the tissues rather than pressing down into them. It can be incorporated into a massage to work with areas of muscle tension, restricted movement, and fascial stiffness while providing a different sensation than traditional deeper-pressure techniques.
Depending on your practitioner’s training and your treatment goals, cupping may include moving silicone cups, stationary vacuum-assisted cups, or smaller silicone cups for more focused treatment.
Temporary circular or reddish markings can occur following cupping and vary depending on the technique used and your individual response.
This can work well for clients looking for:
• A different approach to persistent muscle tension
• Treatment for areas that feel restricted or difficult to address with pressure alone
• Support for comfortable movement and mobility
• A therapeutic option that does not rely entirely on heavy manual pressure

Ashiatsu is a deeply therapeutic massage technique using the therapist’s feet to apply broad, slow, and evenly distributed pressure while supported by overhead bars.
It is ideal for clients who enjoy deeper pressure but prefer a smoother, less concentrated sensation than traditional deep tissue work.
At Driftwood Balance, Ashiatsu may incorporate myofascial techniques, fascial traction, movement, and stretching to work with chronic tension, postural strain, and whole-body patterns.
Deep, flowing, and surprisingly relaxing, Ashiatsu offers a unique approach to therapeutic massage without relying on sharp or overly focused pressure.
Prenatal massage is thoughtfully adapted to support comfort throughout pregnancy. Positioning, pressure, and techniques are modified to suit your stage of pregnancy and individual needs.
Treatment can focus on common areas of tension such as the back, hips, legs, neck, and shoulders while still providing a calming, restorative experience.
Supportive side-lying, semi-reclined, or specialized prenatal cushioning may be used to help you feel comfortable throughout your appointment.
This service uses gentle to moderate therapeutic pressure and is not intended as a deep tissue treatment.

What is RAPID Neurofascial Reset?
RAPID NFR is a type of massage that treats aches and pains by focusing on the nerves rather than muscle tissue. It’s a lotion-free technique, so the client remains clothed, and the treatment is movement-based to encourage the client to perform active motion.
The purpose of RAPID is to reset nerve hypersensitivity back to neutral. The high intensity of the technique along with the client’s active movements allows the body to downgrade pain and reprogram sensory information processed by the brain. This then causes an immediate change in how the body responds to what it’s now feeling. It’s for this reason that treatment lengths are shorter and the results last longer.
Movement and return to activity are highly encouraged after a RAPID treatment to reinforce the changes created by the body. RAPID doesn’t physically alter tissues, it’s just changing the information from the nerves, so it’s able to be used for many conditions and contributes greatly to faster healing.

Sessions are a combination of discussionhistory intake, hands on palpation, examination, and treatment. The provider assesses the tissues with their hands to evaluate texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments & nerves. Hypersensitive areas are treated by combining precisely directed depth and tension with very specific patient movements.
RAPID sessions may be a bit uncomfortable. This occurs as the neurological system is being stimulated to restore normal function.
Pricing reflects length of time required for sessions.
More complex pain issues may require longer sessions at first, but the goal will always be to reduce length of time needed to achieve the desired results. Our ultimate goal is to get you pain free. Sometimes that takes as little as 1 session, sometimes with more complex concerns it may take more than that.
